About Katherine & Katherine Abigail Photography

As a photographer my favorite thing is to capture a moment in life that can never be replicated. Whether it’s a huge life moment, a documentation of the stage of life you are in, or a celebration of the beautiful body God gave you. I want to be there for every step of the journey as your girl behind the camera!

Having been raised in cattle country I understand and live by the values of the equestrian world. I work hard, play hard, and am not afraid to get down and dirty for the right photo angle. I take pride in applying my work ethic and fun but confident personality to my career. By the time we are done working together I hope that you feel like you have gained a new best friend who just so happens to take incredible photographs.

I first picked up a camera in 2014 with a love for documenting what lay in front of me. However, I quickly realized my true passion resides in making others smile. By 2020 this had led me into the realm of wedding photography where I got to photograph boundless love, endless devotion, and all the happy tears. In 2022 I saw a need for photography that celebrates the female body while emphasizing beauty and strength without the extreme sexualization which is prominent in boudoir photography today. So, I decided to incorporate boudoir into my business. Now I get to create a safe and fun environment where women get to celebrate their body in the exact moment they are in. As life changed my business evolved to keep up. In 2024 I decided to step away from weddings to focus on couples, families, boudoir, and the equestrian lifestyle. I have built a career that allows me to help people smile every day while capturing their moments that will never appear the same way twice. I am thriving behind the camera and would love to see you through my lens soon.

A glimpse at who Katherine really is…

People are like onions, comprised of so many layers. So here are a few of mine. I hope you find one that makes us friends.

I grew up on a cattle ranch where I fell in love with animals and learned the value of hard work. I was homeschooled from preschool to 12th grade which required time-management and self responsibility skills. My time as a soccer player taught me how to be a productive and contributing member of a team. When I switched to three-day eventing I learned trust is the most precious gift we can bestow upon one another. My college career taught me that you must be strong enough to give yourself grace incase no one else does. Starting my own business has taught me that no one should run from their talent.

As for my less serious layers. My husband, Ryan and I have been together since 2015 and I’d like to think that we are still madly in love. I am a stereotypical dog Mom to our handsome Golden Retriever Archer. I have big homesteading aspirations and love having a ten year plan. My horse Piper is a constant in my life, and although we don’t compete anymore, we still enjoy a good brushing, long trail rides, and a lazy day bareback adventure. Much to Ryan’s chagrin I am a clown for Taylor Swift and my greatest disappointment is that I haven’t gotten to see her in concert. My two favorite hobbies are reading and running. Honestly, I work because I can blow through books faster than my wallet would like. When I really don’t want to run I treat myself to listening to an audio book and Sarah J. Maas accompanied me on many of my long training runs for the Big Sur Marathon. Good food is my love language, and I have a very serious iced vanilla chai addiction. But most importantly, I am always down for an adventure, bonus points if I get to bring Ryan and Archer along!
