Get to Know the Girl Behind the Camera!

Hi there,

My name is Katherine and I am the person behind the camera at Katherine Abigail Photography. I am so happy you are here.

So who am I at this moment in time, on August 17, 2021? Well I am a twenty-one year old, going into her final year of college, who is also in the process of establishing her own business. Within the past week I have upgraded to a brand new camera, bought my business domain, and built my very own website. Although my bank account is experiencing a little shock, I couldn’t be happier. Growing up I was so sure of what I wanted, to be a veterinarian, a dream that lasted until I got to high school chemistry. After that I spent years feeling directionless and unsure. So I took my love for photography and my passion for being the best part of someone else’s day and decided to give my own business a try.

Photography has had its ups and downs, I love what I do but for a long time I questioned whether or not it was a truly viable career option. There is so much that goes into being a successful photographer which I knew little to nothing about. I had no idea if I would be able to support myself. But then I played polo with Lauren from Lauren Maeve Photography and she became my friend. That friendship was the best thing that came out of the year 2020 for me. Lauren has since poured so much valuable time and information into me that I am confident I will not starve as a struggling artist when I graduate college next Spring.

It’s hard to believe that I am sitting here writing the first blog post to go on my new website, but I am. This is one of those surreal moments in life when things just seem to be fitting into place and you feel like you are exactly where you are supposed to be.
