A Magical Backyard Santa Ynez Wedding
The Stephen’s wedding will forever be near and dear to my heart. This was my second wedding working as a second shooter for Lauren Maeve Photography and I could not have asked for a better introduction to the wedding industry. Not only is Lauren an incredible photographer to work under and I always learn a lot; but Torrie and Quinn have so much love for one another it was an honor to get to be a part of their special day!
I can be pretty hit and miss emotionally while working, but Father Daughter looks never fail to make my throat tight, and this one between Torrie and her Dad definitely brought tears to my eyes!
One reason this wedding was so special for me is because Torrie and Quinn have been together since high school! Like myself, they have been in a long term relationship that few people believed would last at the beginning. Watching them finally get to have their big day had be thinking about my own future and how excited I am to be able to marry my high school sweetheart soon.
The whole day Torrie was thinking about those she loves deeply and you could tell that all of her actions were intentional. She wrote both her Dad and Mom letters that moved everyone in the room to tears. But even before they saw each other you could tell that she was also thinking of Quinn and what she could personally do to make sure he was having the best day possible as well. I have yet to work with a more thoughtful and caring bride.
This day was filled with first for me. I learned so much both while behind the camera and again while editing my own work later. I will be eternally grateful both for the opportunity to learn and the positive and uplifting environment that was the Stephen’s wedding day. This wedding was my first time photographing the groomsmen on my own and while that can be an intimidating experience both Quinn and his men were so kind and cooperative it helped everything run smoothly!
